The Educational Church of God in Christ was started in 1986 By Pastor Ruben Frye in a rented building in Jamaica, NY.

He had a vision from the Lord, and The Word of the Lord in his heart.
Two passages of scripture stood out in his mind, "Where there is no vision, the people perish". (Proverbs 29:18a), and "
The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, Because He hath anointed me to preach the Gospel to the poor;
He hath sent me to Heal the brokenhearted, to preach Deliverence to the captives;
and Recovering of sight to the blind; to set at Liberty them that are bruised,
To preach the Acceptable year of the Lord." and he set out to begin to educate his flock,
through the expounding of The Word, and teaching them
to move mountains with Mustard Seed Faith!
God has since smiled on us here at the Educational C.O.G.I.C.,
and in thirteen years we have purchased our own property and are over two-thirds finished building a new santuary from the ground up.

We have not borrowed any money or made any loans for this building, we are building by faith. (Nehemiah 4:6. "So built we the wall; and all the wall was joined together unto the half therof: for the people had a mind to work".)

Our goal for this new millineum is to continue
on in the work for the Master by establishing a Daycare Center,Youth Reading, Math & Computer Center,
a Senior Home for our beloved saints and to provide affordable homes in our surrounding neighborhood. We belive that we can
and will do all things through Christ Jesus who strengthens us.
